One of the greatest things that can happen to any artist is team up with fellow artists and create. That is exactly what happened when Erick Tran and Steve Giraldo called me to team up with them to create "Scary Merry Christmas."
"Scary Merry Christmas" is an animated short film that came with lots of challenges for me (technically and artistically). However, just to have the opportunity to work with Erick, a great artist known for his work in "The Simpsons" (among many other works) was already enough reason to say yes to this project. Teaming up with Steve one more time (he is the voice of Cafino in my short "Gas Station") was a delight. He did a great job as a producer and also surprised me even more with his voiceover powers. The talented Steve played all the characters in the film. Absolutely amazing! After a few months, lots of coffee, long hours working overnight and lots of learning and laughter, the final result came surpassing all my expectations. Like always it was fun doing animation, but even more fun creating this piece of work next to these two great gentleman. I hope you enjoy the film as much as we enjoyed creating it!!! This is result of a few weeks studying "Toon Boom Animate 3" an amazing 2D software widely used for professionals in the industry. For me It was very refreshing doing 2D for the first time after so many 3D animations...It was so much fun doing it!!! Enjoy! Click to watch "Global Warming," my new animated short film, has finally been completed after a year in the making.
"Cafiño," our little coffee bean, (who became famous for my short "Gas Station") will now fight against earth's chaotic weather. He will embark on an adventurous search for a sunny spot to get his much desired tan. Completing this animation has been quite a journey for me, technically and artistically, since the story really demanded high levels of animation and special effects. I've definitely learned so much doing it!. I have to admit that animating Cafiño after the great success of "Gas Station" has been really fun. I know Cafiño already has an audience eager for his new adventures . The film features the voices of Steve Giraldo as Cafiño and Jessica Sonneborn as the anchor weather girl. This 3D animation is currently being submitted to several film festivals worldwide. Watch Trailer ![]() Last month director Nima Javadi invited me to a trip into the future on his cinematic web-commercial "Powermud" made for the prestigious Hollywood makeup brand GlamGlow. I was commissioned by Javadi to compose the score and create the entire sound scape for this Sci-Fi short. The film was screened last Friday, May 30th at Warner Bross Studios in Hollywood CA. Watch here ![]() Last May 27th I had the opportunity to watch "Alice D" at the IFS film festival. Personally one of the grates pleasures I can have as an artist is to find creative fellow artists with the passion and dedication to make good movies! The first time I saw the movie I was blown away by the way this independent horror film looked. The story, the awesome cinematography, haunting locations and more importantly the acting really shine and made "Alice D" a great movie to score!..It was a great opportunity not only to compose a fun score, but also to make good friends. thank you and congratulations to all involved in this film and "long live Alice D" ![]() I was commissioned by Columbus Communications to create a 3D animated musical for the California Beef Council. The result was "Make It Beef" A cute animated musical short film with a curious family and a catchy bilingual song. Being "Singing In The Rain" and "The Nightmare Before Christmas" two of my all time favorite movies I couldn't say no to this project, and as always I really ended up having fun making it....Enjoy!
